When you move into or out of a VASO home, you must notify your change of address to the Local Register Office, the Post Office and your housing cooperative’s maintenance company.
Notifying change of address to the Local Register Office and Post Office
You can notify your change of address to both the Local Register Office and the Post Office through one system, the national Population Information System.
When you make your notification well in advance, a week before you move at the latest, you can ensure you will receive your post at the right address immediately. According to law, the notification must be made within a week of your move.
You must also make a notification of a temporary move if your stay is longer than three (3) months. If you wish, you can also make a notification for temporary moves lasting less than three months.
To notify a change of address online, you will need your online banking credentials, electronic identity card or your online postal service credentials.
Notifying change of address to the maintenance company
You must also notify your change of address to the maintenance company; Notification of Arrival when you move into your home and a Notification of Departure when you leave. Making the notification is important so the maintenance company can, for example, change the name on the postbox or open the door for you if you have forgotten your keys inside.
Download the Notification of Change of Address template or make the notification on the maintenance company’s website. The details for the maintenance company of your cooperative are on the cooperative’s website and the cooperative bulletin board.
