Varsinais-Suomen Asumisoikeus Oy (hereinafter “VASO”) operations require the processing of personal data. The processing of personal data is based on the client relationship, other legitimate context, or the client’s consent. Personal data is used, for example, to manage the client relationship, client satisfaction and other surveys, as well as to communicate with clients, to take care of housing maintenance and to market housing. VASO gives particular attention to the protection of clients’ privacy and personal data and complies with best data processing practices.
Personal data are primarily collected directly from clients themselves. In addition, personal data is collected from, e.g., real estate sales partners, the Suomen Asiakastieto Oy credit registry and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.
In addition, VASO may collect data about users’ data terminal equipment (DTE) on its websites using cookies and other similar technologies, such as web analytics. As a rule, VASO does not disclose this data to third parties, except for partners as stated in the data protection plan and in situations where a residence is sold.
According to the General Data Regulation, everyone has the right to access their personal data being stored in the register. Data subjects may request access to their personal data in writing and signed by hand, not by telephone. Data subjects should send their written request for access to Varsinais-Suomen Asumisoikeus Oy, Asiakaspalvelu, Rauhankatu 4, 20100 Turku. The request should contain the data subject’s name, address, and personal ID number, whether he or she would like to access the data related to a particular matter, all the data or data for a certain period of time.
Data subjects have the right to request that their personal data be rectified, erased, or supplemented if the data are incorrect, out of date, incomplete or unnecessary. The right to object refers to the data subjects’ right to prohibit the data controller from using their personal data for direct marketing. A previously granted direct marketing authorisation can also be revoked at any time by notifying VASO at email@example.com.
