Key facts about the wealth limit
The wealth limit is used to assess whether an applicant can be granted a right-of-occupancy home. As required by law, assets are checked before a right-of-occupancy agreement is concluded.
đź’ˇ The wealth limit does not apply to applicants aged 55 or over or to residents moving to another right-of-occupancy home.
- The wealth limit is specific to each home.
- Assets are checked for all new applicants aged 18–54.
- You only need to submit documentation of your assets once you have accepted the home offered to you.
- Homeowners can also apply for a right-of-occupancy home.
- Exceeding the wealth limit does not always prevent you from getting a home.
Required documentation of assets
For every person aged 18 or over who will be moving into the home, the following documents must be submitted:
- A completed Account of Assets form (ARA 66)
- Your most recent pre-completed tax return – you can download it from MyTax

- an owner-occupied home or other property – an up-to-date statement of its value, a copy of the deed of sale or a sales agreement with an estate agent
- stocks and funds – a statement of their current value
- other investments – a statement of their value
- loans and debts – statements of the outstanding amounts
- shares in properties owned by the estate of a deceased person or in jointly owned properties – a copy of the property tax decision
Submit up-to-date documentation of your assets and debts. If the information in your tax return no longer corresponds to your current situation, please also include documentation of the changes.
